Child Therapy:
Child Therapy is used to support children with emotional regulation, building resilience, and navigating challenges in a developmentally appropriate way. Treatment begins with the parent engaging in an intake session with the clinician to discuss background information, developmental history, and current concerns. The client and the clinician then work on building the therapeutic relationship using the various treatment approaches that are described below. Within child therapy, the child is considered the client but the process is collaborative as the client, client’s parents, and clinician work together to develop strategies and techniques to better support the client.
Treatment Approaches
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a powerful therapeutic approach that supports clients of all ages with learning about themselves and their relationships in the world through play. At Playfully Resilient Counseling Center, clinicians believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect in counseling to support growth, change, and better understanding of one’s self. Using toys, games, and other creative techniques, play therapy supports children with emotional regulation, building resilience, and navigating challenges in a developmentally appropriate way.
Expressive Therapy
Expressive therapy is an approach that encourages self-discovery and emotional healing for all ages by allowing clients to communicate beyond words. Whether through drawing, music, or other forms of creative expression, expressive therapy helps individuals process their experiences, build resilience, and develop new ways of coping with life's challenges.
Family Therapy
At Playfully Resilient Counseling Center, family therapy focuses on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening family connections. We work with families to address challenges that affect the entire family system, offering support in navigating difficult dynamics and life transitions. Family therapy provides a space to foster deeper bonds between the child and their parents, siblings, and/or other important individuals in the family unit.
Parenting
Parenting Consultations is a collaborative process used to help parents navigate varying parenting situations. Through tailored strategies and expert advice, we help parents foster healthy relationships, build resilience in their children, and create a nurturing home environment where both parents and children can thrive.
